When James Smith, COVT decides to share his insight, it’s a good idea to sit up and listen. That’s what I do, at least. The knowledge, commitment, and compassion, when mixed with the humility and humor that really is James, offers a level of learning and growth that is quickly becoming unmatched. James has long been a professional colleague and a friend, so when he approached me to ask if I would assist in his upcoming presentation, Brock String and Beyond, which is being presented as the inaugural event of the Mastering VT Educational Series, I had to laugh a bit. If by help, he meant to quietly sit in the corner and do my best absorbent sponge impression while he spoke; sure, I can do that.
For anyone who has not yet heard, Emergent is launching a monthly online one-hour workshop to hosted by a Vision Therapist. The initial portion of the presentation will be on a concept or Vision Therapy activity, with the second half of the hour reserved for discussions and questions. When joining Emergent, my first request of Dr. Winters was to create this type of educational platform, and I am filled with excitement and gratitude as we work together to put this plan into action!
