Giving Thanks and VISUALIZING the Future

As we enter a week known for giving thanks, I am reminded of the many wonderful gifts Vision Therapy has offered us all. Along with the connection with like-minded individuals whose one main purpose is to improve the lives of others, we are given the amazing opportunity to work in a field that bring us in contact with those who are struggling and looking for solution – a solution we are well equipped to offer.

Last week, our Mastering VT Online Therapist Workshop covered the amazing lecture career of Dr. Bob Sanet. Attended by many in our field, the conversation included the many values of Dr. Sanet’s seminar, as well as an interesting discussion on the value in the Sanet Seminar recordings, now offered by Emergent.

Moving forward, I am excited for December’s presentation on Visualization, offered by Erin Jubas, COVT entitled Mind’s Eye Mastery: Advanced Visualization tools for Vision Therapists”. Here is Erin’s course description:

In this course we will dive into visualization; the key component of visual processing.  You will get her approach to introducing visualization to patients and discuss how this relates to quality of life and increased performance of visual processing skills. We will define visualization, visual memory, and visual sequencing as well as introduce procedures to enhance these skills. We will use a card game called Blink as a high level fast perceptual task that uses all of the visual perceptual skills. We will learn unloading and loading for all patient demographics.

As a scheduling reminder, our Mastering VT Educational Online Workshops (created by Vision Therapists FOR Vision Therapists) will run monthly and can be viewed after the fact on video.

We are currently in the process of constructing our 2025 schedule so be sure to check back often! As a reminder, a portion of each event will be a presentation on a concept or vision therapy activity and then it will be opened up for questions and discussion.

Hope to see you all soon!

Robert
